I'm back, but briefly. Finally found a slack space of time at work to provide a few updates. Plus, I need your input on something.

I've been seriously toying with two ideas: either bag the whole blog bit (the house one would stay, if only for reference material) or move to another location (nothing personal Howard, I just want to see what else is out there) . I just can't seem to summon the time or energy to write and when I do, it sounds like the endless pablum of a thousand other blogs out there. I still kind of like the haiku site (even though I'm likely the only one who understands any of it) (oh, it's been reopened, in case you cared) but I can see it's more schtick and less originality than I had first thought. I have found a few blogs I truly like (Go Fug Yourself and Preshrunk are my current faves), but I can't seem to hit upon one item that has an endless supply of linkable material and will hold my interest. Or that hasn't been done already.

Comments on this would be greatly welcome at this time. (cue Clash "Should I Stay or Should I Go")

What's with trying to do something that's never been done before? With so many blogs (I hate that word!), that's pretty difficult. I dunno, I guess I just thought the point was to write about stuff that you wanted to share with other people and also that you enjoyed writing about to the point where you'd update the site on a regular basis.

So what do you find interesting enough to make you want to write about all the time?

That's just it. Either I have nothing that holds my interest that tightly or it's been done already. I want to separate myself from the usual tedium that blogs present.

"Today I got up and had a piece of toast. Then I brushed my hair..."

I was hoping to work this into something better than the half-muttered ramblings of a 30something office drone. It didn't pan out like that and I don't see a way to make the time and the effort materialize in the future.

I was hoping for some vote of support that this should continue. Maybe that's the wrong approach for this, I don't know. But I feel like this is a waste of time to both write and to read.

hey! don't go!

actually do whatever you'd like with my blessing, seriously... but now that we have RSS feeds (on the new templates), it really doesn't matter much where your blog is physically located. If the problem is conceptual, you'll take that with you.

I would not search for something unique as much as for something more heartfelt, genuine and passionate. That's what is going to fuel your energy for blogging. Otherwise, it will always just seem like a chore.

For starters, freshen up this blog with a new template, explore the controls and activate your RSS feeds, explore a site like del.icio.us for inspiration!

Well, I like just seeing what you are up to every now and then since we don't get together often enough. Maybe you will find more to write about with the baby on its way.

Thanks for the update, Howard. I didn't realize you had gone the RSS route already.

Hopefully I will have time to write about the bambino/bambina. Heck, I still have the sonos from a month ago I haven't posted! I'll do that now.

I second that.
